Parliamentary delegations from CEI countries gather in Bucharest

Infrastructure and digital connectivity, viewed as a strategic lever for economic cohesion and the European integration process, as well as the role of local governments and younger generations in creating an increasingly connected, inclusive, and cohesive region, were among the main topics discussed by the Parliamentary Committee of the Parliamentary Dimension of the Central European Initiative (CEI), which met today in Bucharest at the Parliament Building. The meeting was opened by Rozália-Ibolya Biró, President of the CEI Parliamentary Dimension, Mircea Abrudean, President of the Romanian Senate, Clara Staicu, Secretary of State for European Affairs, and Franco Dal Mas, CEI Secretary General.
"Every step towards European integration, beginning with the Western Balkans and expanding to include Ukraine and Moldova, is a step towards stability, prosperity, and peace on our continent," Dal Mas stated. "This is not just a foreign policy goal: it is a shared political and strategic project, at the heart of the CEI's mission and identity," he said, referring to Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani's view that EU enlargement represents a "true reunification of Europe."
